There is the Plaza and there is Canyon Road - two distinct icons of Santa Fe tourism with no obvious street that connects the two. If you want to walk to Canyon Road from the Plaza area, the most direct approach is as follows:
Locate the Palace of the Governors on the north side of the Plaza.
Walk east on Palace Avenue to Paseo de Peralta.
Turn south (right) on Paseo de Peralta.
Continue on Paseo de Peralta one block to Alameda and continue.
In half a block, turn east (left) onto Canyon Road.
Within the next six blocks you will find the highest concentration of art galleries in the city. But that's not all. Enjoy serene gardens, cafes and outdoor art.
